Somewhere you turned thirteen

It was just yesterday that you were a baby

And I was a clueless new mom,

Somewhere you turned thirteen

And I figured my way to a new calm.

With countless sleepless nights

Somewhere we only remember the smiles

The years passed by have taught so much to us

And I have saved them all in my memory aisles

From your first step towards me

To your first fall from the swing

From those porridge you disliked

To having breakfast like a king

It was just yesterday that you were a baby

And I was a clueless new mom

Somewhere you turned thirteen

And I figured my way to a new calm

When you asked non stop questions

And I wondered how to get all those answers

You still ask a lot of them everyday

And I haven’t been good with those chapters

Holding my hand as we went to places

To being around when I needed a company

Clinging to me with every stranger smile

To being the most social boy to accompany

It was just yesterday that you were a baby

And I was a clueless new mom

Somewhere you turned thirteen

And I figured my way to a new  calm

There were days when your eyes looked for me

Now those eyes are full of dreams

I wondered how would my little boy turn

But look I am so proud of all your schemes

From non stop chatter of your day

Dancing to any tune under the sun

You have finally learnt the art of filtering

And  focusing more on what is real fun

It was just yesterday that you were a baby

And I was a clueless new mom

Somewhere you turned thirteen

And I figured my way to a new  calm

Today as you step in the new phase of life

Mother in me wants to hug you a bit more

Tell you that you my boy will always be my baby

And wish you all the success on each and every shore

Happy Birthday my Sunshine!

Little birdie is Twelve

You grew up so fast

Must faster than I had thought.

My little birdie is twelve

And much taller than myself

Just another year to be teen

we are ready for all the fun in between

While you explore this world with a new lens

I promise to be around more as friends

That baby is no more fitting my lap

But I am happy that we can cheer and clap

At times I go back check old pics

No less proud to see your wits

I wish to hug you more this year

And kiss those no more chubby cheek pear

Snuggle and read a book by your side

Because you are my baby and my world wide
